The story about the Zebra
( as long as I have owned it )
When I bought the car in November 1996 it was green and
consequently not named the Zebra.
It is a Land Rover series IIA 88" PU diesel right hand drive
from 1967. It had not been used in traffic for several years and
needed some repairs before I could use it for daily transportation.
The repairs needed were mostly surface rust, but it still took me
several months to finish the repairs, mainly because the owner isn't
always so quick.
The first MOT was not very successful. I had to take my Land
Rover back home and replace the rear springs and adjust the
headlights. After this and some smaller repairs it past it's first
MOT for at least 8 years. Since then I have used it almost daily
without any major problems except for the total lack of comfort.
In July -98 I planned to go to a gathering arranged by the
Swedish Land Rover Club in Dalarna, Sweden, and thought that the
Land Rover needed a new look. After buying black and white paint I
started to work with a brush and the Land Rover turned into a Zebra.
